Obituary for Horst Groninger

With profound sadness, we say goodbye to our founder, visionary, and role model, Horst Groninger, who passed away on 14.11.2025 at the age of 86.

In 1980, Horst Groninger founded our company with a clear vision: to build machines that would set new benchmarks – both technically and in terms of quality. What started as an idea with just a handful of employees evolved under his leadership into a globally successful family enterprise – today one of the leading manufacturers of filling and closing machines.

His entrepreneurial spirit was defined by innovation, foresight, and a deep sense of responsibility – towards employees, customers, and partners alike.

Horst Groninger was not only a businessman, but also a person who listened, supported, and inspired those around him. Many employees fondly recall personal encounters, his handshake mentality, and his grounded, approachable nature.

In his passing, we lose a defining figure whose values and principles continue to shape our company to this day. His legacy lives on – in our products, our culture, and in the people who continue to shape groninger every day.
