groninger donates 10,000 euros to charitable initiatives

At groninger, social responsibility is deeply rooted in the company’s values. For the past ten years, the family-owned business has deliberately chosen not to give Christmas gifts to customers. Instead, it donates 10,000 euros to social institutions – a clear commitment to responsibility and solidarity.

In December 2025, groninger once again invited its employees and the broader public to vote on how the 10,000-euro donation should be allocated among three charitable organizations. Nearly 1,000 people participated and jointly determined how the funds would be distributed. The votes were cast as follows:

  • 49 percent for the Friends of Crailsheim Hospital
  • 29 percent for Amelie e.V.
  • 22 percent for “Ulmer Schatzkiste,” University Hospital Ulm

Based on the results, 4,900 euros will go to the Friends’ Association of the Crailsheim Hospital, which is committed to further strengthening medical care in Crailsheim and the surrounding region.

Amelie e.V. will receive 2,900 euros to support its work with families of children suffering from chronic illnesses.

The “Ulmer Schatzkiste” project helps parents with cancer create personal memory films for their children – an incredibly moving initiative that will receive 2,200 euros.

For groninger, this campaign is more than a tradition. It reflects the company’s identity as a regional family business: “We see ourselves as part of this region and want to help make it stronger and warmer,” say managing partners Jens and Volker Groninger.

The strong participation shows how important this mindset is to groninger employees and partners alike. “We are proud to do good together,” adds Volker Groninger.

His brother, Jens Groninger, emphasizes: “Engagement starts on your doorstep, but its impact can reach far beyond – both in small and in significant ways.”

This is the tenth year that groninger has launched its “Donations instead of Gifts” initiative. Through this campaign alone, 100,000 euros have been donated to charitable organizations over the past decade.
