Project details
In a growing market such as Brazil's pharmaceutical sector, speed, adaptability, and product quality are key success factors. In order to meet increasing production requirements, a completely new building with a modern clean room has been constructed since the start of the project — specifically for the company's first flexfill system. The project therefore represented a major and groundbreaking step for both sides.
Fixed framework conditions on the part of the customer
The project started under extremely demanding conditions: a new filling plant had to be planned, delivered, and commissioned within a tight time frame. At the same time, RBBL built a completely new production building equipped with a modern clean room specifically for this solution. This created the basis for a state-of-the-art manufacturing environment.
In addition, transport posed a particular challenge: during delivery, the control cabinets were damaged and had to be returned to Crailsheim for inspection and repair. Despite this setback, the ambitious schedule was met.
The first major milestone was reached after only eight months with the successful FAT. Just three months later, the SAT provided final confirmation of a smooth implementation. This was made possible by short shipping times via air freight, a seamless installation handover, and smooth commissioning — supported by a highly specialized, precisely tailored solution from groninger.
A highly flexible flexfill filling system was used, which fills both pre-sterilized syringes and vials with maximum flexibility, high speed, and maximum process reliability. A solution that impresses not only with its performance but also with its compact design: the integrated filling station with in-process control guarantees maximum precision and process reliability. The combination of rotary piston and peristaltic pumps, as well as efficient filling technology, enables different products to be processed flexibly and reliably. The line is complemented by an active-oRABS, which ensures the best possible product protection.
A project that connects
Particularly noteworthy is the partnership between the teams at RBBL, EMS, and groninger, as well as the local representative Maquidrex, which contributed significantly to the success of the project. From the outset, the customer demonstrated a high level of commitment: everyone involved at RBBL worked with exceptional dedication, which impressively illustrates how special this cooperation is.
The efficient, close coordination not only enabled rapid implementation, but also a result that was convincing across the board. This exceptional collaboration was even highlighted by RBBL's COO, Patricia Battonyai de Oliveira, who expressed her sincere thanks to the groninger team for their special commitment and excellent cooperation.
With the delivered system, RBBL is relying on a future-proof setup that meets the highest technical requirements and supports growing production needs. A project that was implemented in record time and stands as an example of successful partnership and excellent competence.
